A Challenge, A Manifesto

This challenge of a daily task, a ritual, a practice, is one which holds significant weight. A discipline which seems to appeal to the human psyche or circumstance.

I consider myself to be a pretty structured person and choose to put my practice into nurturing intuition, believing that my growth and freedom depends on listening to the flow of life rather than creating and enforcing structure.

However, after visiting the opening of a dear friend's exhibition this evening, the following thought arose:

what if I were to set the daily practice of writing an artists statement? This could act as a profound practice of clarity, of refinement, of working closer to the articulation of essence.

and so, here I am, my body telling me it is time to sleep and I have not yet attempted this task for today, but I have contemplated it. And that contemplation I have put in words and committed to the web. Lets see how it unfurls from here.
